Message from Honourable Minister of Health & Family Welfare Dapartment, Govt. of Sikkim, Shri G.T. Dhungel.

On the occasion of World AIDs Day, I congratulate the Health Department and SSACS for thier untiring efforts as we work together to combat HIV/AIDS, I want to emphasize the importance of compassion, education, and prevention. Let us break the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS and support those affected.

To those living with HIV/AIDS, I want to assure you that you are not alone. We care, we support, and we believe in you. Your HIV status does not define you – you are strong, capable, and deserving of love and respect. Stay positive, stay strong, and stay informed. There are many treatment options available to manage your condition. You are a warrior, fighting a brave battle. Keep pushing forward, and know that better days are ahead. Your health is a priority – take care of yourself, physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Prevention is key in combating HIV/AIDS. Protect yourself, protect others – practice safe sex, and get tested regularly. HIV is preventable – know your status, and take control of your health. Don’t wait until it’s too late – get educated, get tested, and get treated if necessary. Safe sex is ultimate – use protection, and respect yourself and your partner. Break the stigma – talk openly about HIV/AIDS, and support those affected.

To prevent HIV/AIDS, practice safe sex by using condoms and dental dams. Get tested regularly for HIV, and use sterile needles and equipment. Avoid sharing personal items such as toothbrushes and razors. Consider Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) if you’re at high risk.

I urge individuals to make them aware regarding this fatal disease and can contact the National AIDS Helpline or visit the World Health Organization (WHO) or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The government is committed to helping people with AIDS and making them a safe and stigma free environment under the compassion and benevolence of our leader Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay.

Let’s work together to prevent HIV/AIDS and support those affected!
