Solidarity Marathon: “Take the Right Path”
The Sikkim Drug User Forum, in collaboration with the Sikkim State AIDS Control Society (SSACS), organized a Solidarity Marathon with the theme “Take the Right Path.” The marathon aimed to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and promote a healthier lifestyle while standing against substance abuse.
Details of the Event:
Route: The marathon began at Deorali, passed through Zero Point Palace Gate Assembly House, and concluded at MG Marg.
Participants: The event saw enthusiastic participation from colleges, community groups, individuals, and various departments, with runners spanning an age range of 10 to 70 years.
Chief Guest: The marathon was graced by the Honorable Minister, Shri Arun Upreti, accompanied by the Project Director of SSACS.
Key Highlights:
The run was not competitive but a participatory event, symbolizing solidarity and unity for a cause.
Certificates and mementos were distributed to all participants by the organizers as a token of appreciation.
This Run for a Cause brought together people from diverse backgrounds to advocate for taking the right path in life and supporting efforts to combat HIV/AIDS and substance abuse.
